HEY GUYS! im sry if i havent been posting recently... O lvls and basketball at the same time... so i wun be having time for this blog for some time alright? nxt is tt my previous tagboard had some problems... so i had to use this new one i found on ian and jeff's blog... anyway... the bottom line is tt i wun be posting anytime soon... not until after O lvls anyway... but dun give up on me alright? ok... tt's it! thanx to those who still visit!

alright! hi once again... first things first... thanx to the ppl who tagged... its encouraging u noe? haha... sry for not posting ytd... there were some family stuff happening and i had to go back to malaysia for awhile... din do much except waste time... so i had to rush my homework till midnight... i din get to finish in the end... but at least i tried! and yo alvin! thanx for putting those up... i knew i left out some info... i'll see if i can squeeze those in some other time

OK! now let us start this post officially with the intro of some basketball movies/animes...

1st up we have this movie Coach Carter! Produced in 2005... this show's based on a true story where coach carter comes in to a backstreet school to coach basketball to a bunch of ruffians and slight hooligans... the classic show where the coach tames the players and in time... learn to respect them as they respect him... the promotion for this show's also definitely cool enough for u to be tempted...

next up we have Glory Road! Produce in 2006 and directed by James Gartner... Glory Road features basketball in the old times way way back where racism was rampant in America and african americans have no say... this show is as well a true story and here's what it is...

In 1965 Don Haskins (Josh Lucas) was coaching girls high school basketball somewhere in the dustbowl of Oklahoma when he was offered the head coaching position at tiny Texas Western University. Though the job was low paying and Haskins and his wife (Emily Deschanel) would have to live in the mens dorm, with their two young children, the job was his first chance to coach division one mens basketball. He could not pass up the opportunity.
Packed off to the scorching hot oil fields of El Paso Texas, Haskins had no plans on making history. He simply wanted to put a winning team on the court. The fastest way to improve the Texas Western Miners team was to do something that few other programs in the country were willing to do. Actively recruit several african american players.
By 1966 college basketball had long been integrated but there was a basketball equivalent of Jim Crow laws in place, off the books. As described by the teams long time trainer Ross Moore, (Red West) teams, especially in the south, had african american players but usually no more than one. If a team had more than one black player they were only allowed to play them one at a time unless the team was losing. Having more than two african americans on a team was simply unheard for a southern school.
Haskins actively recruited and ultimately aquired seven african american players including a pair of high school superstars Bobby Joe Hill (Derek Luke) and David Latin (Schin A.S Kerr). Texas Western first made history for being the first NCAA division one team to have more african american players than caucasion but, of course, as history tells us there was plenty more history to be made. As the season went on, and team and coach melded each others style of play, the team was nearly undefeated and finally faced off with the legendary Adolph Rupp (Jon Voight) and his Kentucky University Wildcats for the national collegiate basketball championship.

For the passionate basketball player... slamdunk, though long winded, shows the lives of the different players of team shohoku... as their emotions show... one carn help but be moved by them... for those who already know/watched the anime... the story continues only in the manga where shohoku goes to the national finals and play the greatest match in their history... read it and i guarantee tt after doing so... you'll be restless for so long thinking of nothing but basketball...

there are other animes such as Dear Boys as well... though i hardly reccomend it as i feel the lousy match plays and unrealistic actions mar any fantasies of basketball...

all right! im starting over my blog... got comments about how i ran it... recently... i've been rilly passionate bout basketball... juz when everyone'e busy preparing for their O lvls... damn! For the ppl who play basketball and love it... i dunno if u can understand if i say i can get so excited juz thinking about playing... i carn slp... and im juz waiting for the nxt day to play again... its an amazing feeling...
i'll be posting stuff bout basketball in the posts to come... drills... stuff about teamwork and mebbe a quote or two from basketball players around... anything i can get my hands on... and if u guys visit and spot any mistakes i might make in the stuff i post... leave me a tag and i'll change it as soon as possible...
